Campaigns

An objective of Jo's Trust is to raise the public profile and understanding of the causes of pre-cancer and cancer of the cervix and how they can be possibly prevented and overcome. Education and greater awareness about cervical cancer are the keys to achieving this objective.

Jo's Trust campaigns to influence Governments in Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England by lobbying all politicians (MPs, AMs, MLAs and MSPs) to support and introduce new preventative, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for cervical cancer.

Your support of our campaigns is both valued and appreciated.

Currently the focus of our campaigning is two fold. Firstly to ask for a renewed effort from the NHS and the UK Governments to encourage women to attend for regular smear tests, and second to ask that a national school based Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) immunisation programme is introduced as soon as possible. It has been proven that HPV infection is the primary cause of nearly 100% of cervical cancers and the new HPV vaccines have been shown to be 100% effective against the HPV types 16 & 18 that cause over 70% of cervical cancers.

If you wish to help lobby the Governments in the UK then please click here. A template message to your own elected representatives is provided, this may be altered to include your own opinions, questions and experiences.
